Year End Review: Transportation

In 2019, The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways was in the 14th District 209 times. Projects they undertook included brush trimming, pothole patching, median cleaning, mowing and storm sewer repair, just to name a few. A full breakdown of work orders, by type, can be found below.

Recently, Sanders Road construction wrapped up. The work completed involved pavement resurfacing and patching, curb and gutter replacement,adjustment of drainage structures, and pavement markings. Upcoming long term projects in the 14th District include:


- Buffalo Grove Road from Dundee Road to St. Marys Parkway: Improvements involve drainage structures, and pavement markings.

- Lake Cook Road Bridge Over Middle Fork North Branch Chicago River: Removal of existing bridge joints and replace with strip seal expansion joints, structural repair of concrete, and approach slab repair.
