One-stop for County and State constituent services officially opens in Glenview

Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton (D-14th), Illinois State Senator Laura Fine (D-9th), and Illinois State Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz (D-17th) announced the official opening of their shared Constituent Services District Office. The opening was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony at their Glenview District Office.

"Residents are the most critical voice in the work we do every day to improve the lives of those who live, work and enjoy our community. That's why we are here. Ensuring that residents can easily access their elected representatives is part and parcel of our work to find solutions for their concerns," said Commissioner Britton. "I am grateful to my colleagues Senator Fine and Representative Gong-Gershowitz for working together with me to create a space that makes it easy for constituents to speak with several elected officials at once."

“It is my honor to serve the constituents in the ninth district. Our doors are always open to help navigate residents through the services in both state and county government,” said Senator Fine. “This partnership of a shared space will make it more convenient for constituents to receive the services they need.”

“Being present to serve our community is our top priority, and I can think of no better way to do so than to collaborate in a shared office space that fosters teamwork among elected officials and staff at the State and County level,” said Representative Gong-Gershowitz. “We are excited to share this space with our community and want constituents to feel welcome.”

The shared District Office is a one-stop office for State and County constituent services. Residents are invited to drop-in or make an appointment Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to meet with District Directors, get government-related issues solved or to share legislative concerns.

Also in attendance was Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison, Board of Review Commissioner Michael Cabonargi, Northfield Township Supervisor Jill Brickman, Northfield Township Highway Commissioner Tim Rueckert, Village of Northfield President Joan Frazier, Village of Northfield Manager Stacy Sigman, Arlington Heights Village Trustee Richard Baldino, Village of Prospect Heights Alderman Kathi Quinn, Village of Glenview Deputy Manager Don Owen, Village of Glenview Trustee Michael Jenny, Northbrook Village Trustee Jason Han, Deputy Consul General of the Korean Consulate General in Chicago Dong Han Yang, and Glenview Village Police Commander Pat Schuster among other government officials.

The ribbon cutting, hosted in partnership with the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, was followed by a reception at local eatery Pizano's.

The District Office is located at 1812 Waukegan Rd., Glenview.

A public Open House is scheduled for May 4th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM where all residents are invited to meet the elected officials informally over coffee and light snacks.
