Invest in Cook Dollars Awarded to Prospect Heights

Prospect Heights, in conjunction with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, will be moving into the Phase I engineering stage of the Camp McDonald Road sidewalk project through an Intergovernmental Agreement.

This project is part of the City of Prospect Heights' continued concerted effort to enhance pedestrian connectivity. This sidewalk, in particular, will safely link residents and commuters to the Metra Train Station located at Camp McDonald Road and Wolf Road.

Initiated about 25 years ago, this Metra line was created due to higher density developments on the east side of Prospect Heights were constructed. The project seeks to leverage not only Invest in Cook funds but also RTA Access to Transit and Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program dollars as well.
