Cooling Centers in the 14th District

With temperatures on the rise, it is important to exercise extra caution. Beat the heat by drinking plenty of water, and avoiding alcohol and sugary drinks. When possible, try to stay indoors. If you have to be outside, try to stay in the shade and take frequent breaks.

If you do find yourself needing to run errands, never leave children unattended in a vehicle even if you're only going to be gone for short period of time. Pets should also be kept indoors where it is cool and they have access to plenty of fresh, cold water.

It's also important to be a good neighbor! Check in on those who are elderly and those who are disabled. If you, a neighbor, or friend is without air conditioning, there are a number of cooling centers in the 14th District and around Cook County. Click the map below to see more.
