Secure the Vote

Updated: Sep 11, 2020

Beginning September 24, mail ballots will be sent to all Cook County Voters who apply to receive one. For those who wish to return their ballot by mail, a postage-paid return envelope will be included.

Voters are urged to complete and mail their ballot back as early as possible once they receive it. Voters can expect to receive an email when requesting the ballot online, as well as an email when the Cook County Clerk's Office has received the completed ballot.

For voters who wish to drop off their mail ballot, secure drop boxes will be located at over 50 early voting sites spread throughout Cook County, where voters can drop off their completed mail ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Mail ballots will be collected daily and will be time stamped.

Beginning October 9, 2020, secure drop boxes for mail ballots will also be available at 69 West Washington St. in Chicago as well as the five Regional Courthouses in suburban Cook County located in Rolling Meadows, Skokie, Maywood, Bridgeview, and Markham. Drop boxes will also be available at the remaining Early Voting sites beginning October 19, 2020.
