RTA Seeks Feedback on Strategic Planning

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is the unit of local government created to oversee finances, secure funding, and conduct transit planning for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra, and Pace.

Under state law, the RTA board is required to adopt a Strategic Plan no less than every five years. Currently, RTA is guided by Invest in Transit: The 2018-2023 Regional Transit Strategic Plan, adopted by the RTA Board in January of 2018. This strategic plan focuses on the importance as the core of our region's transportation mobility network, and what is needed to continue this important public service.

The 2023 Regional Transit Strategic Plan examines the funding, planning, and transparency necessary to guide the strategic vision for the next five years. The 2023 Regional Transit Strategic Plan began development in August 2021, and RTA would like to hear from you!

The public is invited to weigh in on challenges and opportunities facing public transit. The survey can be found here.
