New Transit Investments in District 14!

This week, the Cook County Board approved additional funding for three projects underway in District 14.

  1. Sanders Road Resurfacing: In Glenview & Northbrook on Sanders Road from Milwaukee Avenue to Techny Road, a resurfacing project will rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement and repurpose lanes along this section of Sanders Road. Full-depth deteriorated areas were removed and replaced with concrete pavement patching and surfacing. Previously as part of this project, the corrugated median was milled down, the roadway was re-profiled, the curb and gutter were removed where needed, and the entire roadway width was overlaid with asphalt and striped to delineate the new lane configuration. You can read more about the project here.

  2. Buffalo Grove Road Resurfacing: In Buffalo Grove on Buffalo Grove Road south of Dundee Road to St. Mary’s Parkway, a resurfacing project will support the preservation and rehabilitation of the existing concrete pavement. Previously as part of this project, full-depth deteriorated pavement and corrugated median areas were removed and replaced with concrete pavement patching. You can read more about the project here.

  3. Lake Cook Road Widening: In Buffalo Grove on Lake Cook Road from Raupp Boulevard to Hastings Lane, a project to widen the road will improve transit by reducing vehicle traffic congestion, improving access to area businesses, and improving arterial connections for drivers. The project will also incorporate new bicycle and pedestrian facilities, advancing the goal to invest in transportation alternatives. You can read more about the project here.
