Illinois Extends Unemployment Benefits

The Illinois Department of Employment Security has extended unemployment benefits by an additional 20 weeks after the initial 26 week period ends.

If you are currently receiving unemployment benefits, there is nothing further you need to do. You can read the announcement here.

If you are not receiving unemployment, but have lost a job, including gig work or self employment, or have had to leave a job to take care of a relative due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. You can read more about IDES benefits here.
