The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is partnering with nonprofits and banks on two opportunities for Illinoisans who don't have a bank account.
Participating banks are offering free check cashing to Illinois residents without a bank account.
Participating banks are also offering low or no-cost bank accounts in partnership with BankOn that Illinois residents can use for their economic impact payments or for ongoing banking needs. Learn more about the Illinois BankOn program here.
Participating banks offering free check cashing services for your stimulus check and BankOn Certified programs are: Fifth-Third, Chase, Wells Fargo, First Midwest, and US Bank.
