Cook County Chief Information Officer Honored

StateScoop, a publication reporting on news and events impacting technology decisions in state and local government, recently announced the winners of the second annual LocalSmar Awards. When whittled down to 40 finalists, Cook County's very own Chief Information Officer Tom Lynch was among them!

Tom was voted GoldenGov County Executive of the Year for his role as Cook County Chief Information Officer (CIO), a role he began in 2018 after more than four years with the County. As CIO, Tom oversees all county technology initiatives and improvements. Congratulations to Tom for this well-deserved recognition!

This LocalSmar Awards program was created to highlight inspirational individuals and projects making city, county, and municipal governments more efficient and effective.

StateScoop readers sent in their nominations for the 2020 cohort of LocalSmart Award winners, which resulted in more than 200 nominations across five categories.
