Free Vaccine Rides

For the past nine months, vaccines have been top of mind - how to get them, where to get them and how much they will cost (they're completely free!) are questions that have been swirling for quite some time.

In suburban Cook County, 65.2% of the population has at least one vaccine dose. While this is a great starting point, there are still more residents who need support receiving a vaccine. The vaccine is critical to returning to our normal routines and to keep our loved ones safe and healthy.

To further the goal of a fully vaccinated population, the Cook County Department of Public Health is partnering with Kaizen Health to offer FREE rides to get people to and from their vaccinations.

Getting your free ride to a vaccine is simple:

2) Schedule your FREE ride by calling 833-308-1988

  • Kaizen Health can provide vehicles to accommodate most residents, including those in wheelchairs or those who require child seats.

3) Get picked up 30 to 60 minutes before your vaccine appointment

4) Get driven back home after receiving your vaccine. You can also get a ride

to your second appointment if necessary!

You may have heard rumors of booster shots on the horizon as well. As of right now, boosters are reserved for immunocompromised individuals or individuals who are 8 months out from their second dose. To request a booster, visit https://vaccine.cookcountyil.gov/ or call the hotline at 833-308-1988 to sign up.
