About the event
The Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center, 225 McHenry Rd., will serve as the site of a Veterans Day celebration beginning at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11. From 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., refreshments and lunch will be served followed by the program at 1:30 p.m. The program begins with a Color Guard ceremony and playing of the national anthem. VFW Post 981 will present and remove the Colors, as well as pay tribute by presenting the flag for each branch of service. To conclude the program, a 21-gun salute presented by the Marine Corps Firing Detail will be followed by the playing of “Taps.”
