Monday, November 11, to join your veterans from Mount Prospect in the celebration of our country's veterans. Veterans Day is historical, especially the significance of the date the 11th day of the 11th month and the 11th hour when the WWI armistice took effect.

Monday, November 11, to join your veterans from Mount Prospect in the celebration of our country's veterans. Veterans Day is historical, especially the significance of the date the 11th day of the 11th month and the 11th hour when the WWI armistice took effect. We feel it is important to have our gathering on that date. There will be a ceremony at the Lions Veterans Memorial Park in the park house. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. and is expected to run for one hour. There will be a guest speaker Dutch DeGroot retired United States Air Force Master Sargent retired, who shall talk about this day which honors all veterans, past and present. The ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun rifle salute by the VFW/American legion Firing Detail. In addition, Korean War veteran Steve Chmela will play "Taps”.
