2023 Municipal Flag Exchange
Named “I Will,” Cook County’s new flag echoes the past while looking to the future. It represents all that we are and all that we will be. The flag exchange ceremony will provide municipalities with their own "I Will" flag to fly proudly in their respective villages.

In celebration of the County’s upcoming bicentennial anniversary, in December 2019, the Cook County Board of Commissioners embarked on a historic redesign of the new flag. The culmination of a high school competition, professional mentorship, and expert scoring, we now have a new symbol by and for all residents.
Named “I Will,” Cook County’s new flag echoes the past while looking to the future. It represents all that we are and all that we will be. The flag exchange ceremony will provide municipalities with their own "I Will" flag to fly proudly in their respective villages.
The "I Will" flag, a result of a County-wide contest that was open to high school students, flew over Daley Plaza for the first time in September 2022. A video of the flag raising ceremony can be seen here.
