Northfield Township and Wheeling Township Open for Property Tax Appeals

Updated: Oct 19, 2022

Reassessment Notices for Northfield Township and Wheeling Township have been mailed to residents as part of the triennial reassessment cycle. This model means one-third of the county is reassessed every three years, and residents should expect to be mailed a notice that reflects the estimated Fair Market Value base on sales of similar properties over the past three years.

Residents do have the opportunity to appeal their assessment, especially if the property characteristics listed on an assessment notice are incorrect, or if the estimated market value of a property is significantly more than what it could sell for in the current real estate market. Appeals for Northfield Township can be filed until November 3, 2022. Appeals for Wheeling Township can be filed until November 10, 2022.
